Business clients of UBB can already submit a request to open a new current account directly through UBB Online.

The new functionality allows you to apply for a new account without visiting a bank branch, helping you save time and manage your banking needs more conveniently.

How can you submit a request?

The "Open a new account" request is available through Accounts & Deposits → Overview / Accounts and can be initiated from both the Accounts and Requests submenus.

Who can use the service?

At this stage, the request can be submitted and signed by a single legal representative who is authorised to represent the company independently.

After submitting the request, you can track its status directly in Requests → History within UBB Online.

Use the new service to manage your banking relationship more easily and request the accounts you need in a convenient way.

Dear Clients,

From 17 September 2026 onwards, you will be required to provide additional details of the recipient when making certain foreign currency transfers via a UBB branch or through UBB’s digital channels. This change is being introduced in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/1113 and aims to enhance the security and transparency of international transfers.

Which payments are affected?

Additional details will be required for foreign currency transfers with a value exceeding 1,000 euros:

• to banks outside the European Union, regardless of the currency;
• to banks within the European Union, where the transfer is in a currency other than the official currency of an EU Member State.

What do you need to do?

For transfers that fall within the scope of the new requirements, you will need to provide the following:

• The Beneficiary's Legal Status – individual or business entity.
• The Beneficiary's ID type – select one of the following from the drop-down list: national company registration number; tax identification; LEI code; other identification. This field should not be completed if the recipient is a natural person.
• The Beneficiary's ID code – enter the unique alphanumeric code of the business entity according to the specified type of identifier. This field should not be completed if the recipient is a natural person.

If you are using the ‘File Import’ feature in UBB Online, you must update the file formats. Detailed instructions are available in the Frequently Asked Questions section, question no. 10: ‘How am I to upload payment orders through file import?’.

Important information regarding payments already created

If you created a payment order in UBB Online before 17 September 2026,

• with a future value date
• which is awaiting additional signatures
• which has not yet been sent to the bank for processing and Which falls within the scope of the new requirements it will not be executed without the necessary additional details.

In this case, you will need to create and sign the payment again. You can use the 'Copy' function to do so.
