How can I issue a client certificate?
About installing a new client (personal) certificate, issued from UBB you must use browser Internet Explorer
version 6 or higher. After you install your certificate for the first time, you can make a copy and install it on another computer,
another browser or another operating system. About successful installation, you must have administrator rights
on the computer, to have correct date and time on it and to make first the following settings.
1. About automatic setup of your browser, open archive file from here (with Open), start configuration programs (with double click) and buttons in them (the programs are make settings at first two points, described here).
If you cannot open or start the programs follow the instructions here.
For Windows 8, in message 'Windows protected your PC' click 'More info', 'Run anyway' and Yes.
2. Check is there UBB Root Certificate installed in your browser, as:
- From Tools menu, choose Internet Options, open Content tab and click on Certificates button.
- Choose Trusted Root Certification Authorities store and check in the list is there certificate named 'UBB Root CA', valid to 13.1.2022
3. If you cannot find UBB Root Certificate in the described place - install it form here, as follow the steps:
- Click buttons Open, Allow, Install Certificate… and Next.
- Choose the option Place all certificates in the following store, click on Browse… button, choose folder Trusted Root Certification Authorities and confirm with OK.
- Continue and confirm installation with buttons Next, Finish, Yes and OK.
Check as described in point 2 and if you again not find UBB Root Certificate, verify rights on your computer or try on another one.
4. About installing client (personal) certificate from UBB, after you made successfully described settings, close current browser Internet Explorer (if you have opened more then one, close all), start new one and follow next steps:
- Start Internet banking web page from address https://ebb.ubb.bg, confirm message of working in trusted sites zone if you see such.
- If you see window named 'Select a Certificate', 'Choose a digital certificate' or 'Client Authentication' click Cancel.
- In the 'Login' field enter your User ID, Password and click on Login button.
- After successful login in the system from the main menu SELF-SERVICE you have to choose Request for new certificate. New window must be loaded. If not see here.
- Press 'Next' button and enter the password received from the bank:
- as SMS message with text "...your password for certificate is ****** !" or
- printed in envelope, for which it is written Password CERTIFICATE: ***** or
- if you are using U-code device, after click on 'Next' button follow the instructions from computer screen.
- Confirm entered password with 'Confirm' button and continue with 'Issue' button. The password for certificate download can be used only one single time.
- Upon installing the certificate you have to answer on all screens by 'Yes' and 'OK' until you see message 'The import was successful!'.
- After the successful certificate download, an instruction shows up on the screen, which explains how you can make a copy of the certificate. It is obligatory to make a copy how it is described or see How to make a copy of my digital certificate?
- Import your certificate from the copy, so that make impossible to be copied again from your browser by following the instructions on screen or see How can I install my digital certificate from a copy?
- Logout from the system with 'Logout' button in 'User' field.
5. Restart the browser and load Internet banking web page from address
https://ebb.ubb.bg. In the window 'Select a Certificate',
'Choose a digital certificate' or 'Client Authentication' you must see certificate with your names,
mark and confirm it with OK. In the 'Login' field you must see your 'User ID' filled in automatically.
If after confirmation of your client digital certificate you see other message windows confirm them positively.
